India left home at 18 and was managing a surf camp in Morocco by 20. She shaped her life by seeking out experiences that would enable her to live her dreams and own her own business. She is the founder of Papaya Wellness in Nicaragua. Here is her story.
Hi, I'm Chapin. I've been living outside of the U.S. for the last 10 years. Over the years, I've found myself living among some of the most overlooked individuals of the 21st century. Those unique individuals happen to be expatriates, who have left their country of origin for something different. The expatriates I find most interesting are the ones who have left the 1st world and chosen to create a life for themselves in a 3rd world country. I call them Misfits and Rejects. I use these terms with the utmost respect and enthusiasm. They are the beautiful people, in my eyes. These Misfits and Rejects inspire me to live my life with a more authentic, genuine flare.
Some of these expats left their home by choice. Some left because they had to. Either way, I'm not here to judge. I'm here to share their stories. Some stories have happy parts. Some stories have sad parts. Most stories, I hope, will inspire you to think about your life situation and ask… “Am I being genuine to myself in the way I'm living my life?” I feel these people are artistic in the way they've shaped their lives around the world. They challenge me to question and observe things from every angle. It's my pleasure to share their stories and the raw conversations I have with them with you. I hope you enjoy their stories as much as I do.
